Abstract: This paper focuses on the potential of public libraries to support education by collaborating with schools. It highlights how relevant the public libraries are even after the rise of digital resources. The public library can also compensate the insufficient resources of school libraries in West Bengal. It uses the Kushmandi Rural Library as a case study to demonstrate how such collaboration can benefit students and teachers. The paper emphasizes the importance of public libraries complementing school libraries, as suggested by IFLA/UNESCO guidelines.
